International Choir Festival COREARTE Brasil 2014, from August 31 to September 6
More scenarios than ever, divided in 4 cities, have hosted our singers, who have arrived in Caxias do Sul from Chile, Mexico, Uruguay and Brazil.
The camaraderie and music have made this meeting very special for the participants and for the public who attended the concerts.
In the weekend before the festival choirs coreutas of Caxias do Sul have worked with Mara Campos (Brazil), Josep Prats and Basil Astúlez (Spain) conductors.
Workshops from the Festival have been a good opportunity for choirs from Caxias do Sul to be led by internationally renowned teachers. Whole groups as the Youth Choir do Mohino (Cristiane Ferronato) and the Choir of the Faculty IDEau (Federico Trindade) have shared this space with individual singers.
A parade and a choral singing at the park Dos Macaquinhos in the center of the city, led to a feast of color and music that gave our singers a lot of energy to start the week. The concert was opened by the Municipal Choir of Caxias do Sul led by the conductor Cibele Tedesco, who showed us a popular repertoire of gaucho music and then the workshops showed the work done at weekend with the guest conductors.
The week went flying through music workshops, Creole food, rides, visits to different cities and concerts.
The conductor Johan Duijck offered a piano recital at the Conservatory of Music of Porto Alegre which was very well received by the participants, and the 25 Espresso Group conducted by Pablo Trindade offered a dinner show with the best of Brazilian music arranged by Trindade for this group.
We arrived at a great closing concert at the Cathedral of Caxias do Sul, where each choir sang a piece of their country and close with a sample of the workshops worked during the week.
In short, a holiday that ended with a delicious dinner, sharing memories and joy to have finished again another unique human encounter.
