María Guinand es una Directora coral, pedagoga y líder de proyectos corales, realizo estudios musicales en Venezuela e Inglaterra, donde obtuvo su maestría.
Ha sido alumna de H. Rilling, L. Agustoni y J. B. Goeschel.
Actualmente es Directora Artística de la Fundación Schola Cantorum de Venezuela y del programa Voces Latinas a Coro del Proyecto “Acción Social por la Música”, patrocinado por la Corporación Andina de Fomento.

María Guinand is a choral conductor, university professor and leader of many choral projects. Frequently invited as conductor and teacher to different events and concerts in U.S.A, Europe, Asia and Latin America, she has specialised in Latin-American Choral Music of the XXth and XXIst centuries.
As a choral promoter, she is the Artistic Director of the Schola Cantorum of Venezuela Foundation, and coordinates the permanent development of choral centres for children and youth of low economic resources in Venezuela and other Latin American countries in the Project ‘Voces Latinas a Coro’, She served for 12 years as Latin American Vice-President of the ‘IFCM ‘and she is currently Advisor to the Board.
